Service Description

The Manual Handling short course is aimed at all levels of employees who may undertake manual handling operations, including the transporting of a load of items by lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying or moving thereof by hand or by bodily force. This Manual Handling Training Course provides the necessary information and training for organisations to understand more about the risks associated with manual handling, how to undergo a risk assessment and how to ensure appropriate control measures are put in place. This short course is designed for teachers, teaching assistants, midday assistants and office staff, to gain an understanding of manual handling hazards and common causes of injury. It is designed for school staff enabling them to understand their legal responsibilities of complying with the manual handling regulations and the best way to carry out tasks such as moving PE equipment and classroom furniture, moving dining tables and moving school deliveries in ways to prevent harm and injury. The online training platform can be accessed by all staff in a live training session with interactive Q&A's plus quizzes for staff to test their knowledge. All schools will be able to retain a copy of the training session which will be recorded and can be viewed by others in the school - used as part of your induction for new starters for example.
